Margaret is a Teaching Associate at the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, University of Cape Coast. She obtained her PhD and MPhil in Oceanography and Limnology in 2020 and 2013 respectively, and BSc in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences in 2009 from the University of Cape Coast. She supports teaching and research in the same university in the areas of Biological Oceanography, Seashore Ecology, Aquatic Environmental Studies and Biological Interactions in the Environment. She serves as an Editorial Assistant on the Journal of Fisheries and Coastal Management. Her current research involves the use of benthic macroinvertebrates taxonomic and functional groups to assess water and sediment quality of coastal ecosystems as well as hydrographic studies of these ecosystems. She has participated in projects such as the Fishing for Security in the Gulf of Guinea Project funded by the Australian Aid (AusAid) and Environmental Impact Assessment on water bodies in Goldfields mining concessions, Damang. She also worked as a Research Assistant on the RV Fridtjof Nansen Baseline Studies on the Coast of Ghana. She is a member of the Ghana Science Association (GSA), Ghana Association of University Women (GAUW) and the Organisation of Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). She has three (3) peer-reviewed journal articles and two (2) conference presentations to her credit. Her hobbies include internet surfing and swimming.
