2019/2020
Academic Year
My name is Raheem Abdul-Kareem, born and raised in Takoradi-Ghana. I have since childhood been curious and fascinated about the Earth and its processes, a drive that led me to study and graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geomatic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. Reading history, listening to podcasts and surfing the internet are my hobbies. I am presently pursuing an MPhil in Integrated Coastal Zone Management at the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences on full scholarship support from the World Bank Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) Programme at the University of Cape Coast. After my MPhil degree, I expect to apply the principles of geospatial sciences and coastal management to conduct policy-relevant studies to help tackle the many hurdles to achieving sustainable coasts in Ghana, Africa and the world as a whole.
