My name is Jefferson Abeiku Ikediuba, a first-year student enrolled in the Master of Philosophy in Integrated Coastal Zone Management programme, under the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience initiative. During my undergraduate studies, I developed a keen interest in environmental issues and thus, undertook my undergraduate research in the field.

This interest developed into a passion and as such, I seek to explore issues surrounding the governance and management of marine plastic pollution. Subsequently, I hope to make my humble contribution to the global and regional fight geared towards reducing plastic waste generation as well as the production and usage of plastics, through policy-tightening and enforcement. I look forward to a career in Coastal Management.
