PhD Integrated Coastal Zone Management

I am Sheila Nana Akua Ashong, a Ghanaian Environmental Management practitioner, UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Expert and a member of the 1st Women for the Environment (WE Africa) Cohort, 2021. I have a bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana), a master's degree in International Fisheries Management from the Arctic University of Norway and a Diploma in Project Management from the Galilee International Institute of Management (Israel).

I am a Deputy Director of the Environmental Protection Agency of Ghana, where my work involves managing the Man and Biosphere Programme in Ghana, Environmental Impact Assessment and issues relating to Biodiversity and Education for Sustainable Development. I have worked with several biosphere reserves across the World Network and wish to inspire transformational change for sustainable development.

I am enrolled on the PhD programme in Integrated Coastal Zone Management at the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience - University of Cape Coast to sharpen my research skills, share and broaden my networks and complement conservation efforts of communities across the world.
