Call for Applications: Ocean Accounts Fellow

The Centre for Coastal Management (CCM) at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana in collaboration with the Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP) is implementing a two-year Ocean Accounts Project in Ghana. This project aims to strengthen national ocean accounts, with a specific focus on aligning ecosystem extent accounts, informal and subsistence economies, and community-level social accounts. A case study on the subsistence use, benefits, and associated pressures within ecosystems in the Volta Delta region will serve as the foundation for this initiative.

In this regard, the Centre is seeking to award a fellowship to one (1) master student in the second year at the University of Cape Coast who wishes to conduct research within the area of focus of the project as described above.  The fellowship will cover the full cost of studies and research for one year.

 

Eligibility criteria:

1.    Be a second year Master of Philosophy student at the University of Cape Coast in the area of Economics, Blue Economy, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Natural Resource Management or any other related field.

2.   Successfully completed their coursework and about to start the research component.

3.  A strong knowledge of economics and/or statistics is an advantage.
