The Centre for Coastal Management African Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR) recently hosted a significant meeting with the Digital Youth Village and Centre for Digital Youth Development on August 7, 2025. This meeting served as a follow up to a long standing partnership, with the Digital Youth Village providing an update on the progress they have made since their last visit two years ago. The primary goal of the discussion was to strengthen their bond and leverage the expertise of both centers to advance national development in Ghana's coastal areas, using digital skills as a key tool for growth.

The Digital Youth Village's mission is centered on bridging the gap between academia and industry. To achieve this, they aim to equip youth across Ghana and Africa, specifically those aged 15-35, marginalized groups, and early career professionals, with essential digital and soft skills. Their areas of focus include critical skills such as coding, AI, cyber security, innovation, and creativity, all of which are highly relevant for modern industries. The collaboration will also support skill development in key thematic sectors like Agri-Tech, Financial Tech, Health Tech, Retail Tech, and Edu Tech.

Ultimately, this partnership is dedicated to preparing a skilled human resource pool that is ready for the demands of the modern job market. Digital Youth Village believes that by equipping the youth with these crucial skills, it will be possible to achieve business sustainability and drive the "African Agenda," with Ghana positioned as a central hub for this important initiative. Together, CCM-ACECoR and Digital Youth Village are working to foster a new era of digital development for the continent.
