Prof. Benjamin Betey Campion
Dr. Campion has a very diverse academic upbringing: BSc Botany (University of Cape Coast), MSc Aquatic Tropical Ecology (University of Bremen), MSc Sustainable Resources Management (Technical University of Munich) and a PhD Climate and Vegetation Geography (University of Bremen). He is also certified High Conservation Values (HCV) assessor and has participated in HCV assessments in the sub-region. Dr. Benjamin Betey Campion is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Fisheries and Watershed Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. Dr. Campion has for the past 15 years teaching and conducting research in ecology, natural resources management, conflict management and climate change. His research publications have therefore been on natural resources conflicts, especially conflicts and trends in the management of communal resources, urban green spaces and wetlands. He has over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles. Aside research, Dr. Campion has worked as a consultant in the conduct environmental impact assessments, development of management plans and biodiversity action plans for mining companies, oil and gas companies and non-governmental organisations in Ghana and abroad.
