The Centre for Coastal Management (CCM) at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) invites applications to the ACECoR Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme for a period of two (2) years on the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) Project in Ghana, from eligible and interested candidates.
About the Fellowship – The ACECoR Postdoctoral Fellowships Program has been instituted to bring excellent recent doctoral graduates from throughout the West and Central African sub-regions to the University of Cape Coast. The program's goal is to find young researchers who have the potential to create and lead collaborative research activities across thematic research areas while also supporting the Centre's research efforts. The University of Cape Coast provides a favourable research environment for coastal areas study, as well as a well-resourced laboratory facility.
Job/Research Area – Includes areas of research priority for the CCM’s ACECoR Project; Coastal Geomorphology and Engineering, Blue Economy, Social Resilience and Governance, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, Disaster Risk Management and Migration, and Ecosystems and Biodiversity.
Location: University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana.
Eligibility/Qualification – Candidates must have finished their PhD studies within the last three years to be considered (from 2017). Fisheries and/or aquaculture, Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM), Oceanography, Climate Science, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Sociology, and other fields relating to ACECoR's research focus areas are required of the postdoctoral fellow. Competencies in spreadsheet use, statistical analysis (quantitative and qualitative), and good knowledge and application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) and other relevant tools are necessary and will provide a competitive advantage to qualified candidates.
