I am Balatrice Gifty Kerkula from Liberia, West Africa. Currently, I am enrolled at the University of Cape Coast, pursuing a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Blue Economy, Governance, and Social Resilience, at the Department of Applied Economics under the ACECoR programme.  I am passionate about the blue economy where I seek to understand the intersectionality between the environment and the economy. Further, I am interested in the debates surrounding environmental problems including effects of climate change, global warming, natural resource conflicts, policy formulations, and environmental pollution, and how these factors affect the economic and livelihoods of people.  Through the MPhil in Blue Economy, Governance, and Social Resilience, I hope to underwrite and pursue the interlinkages between the environment and the economy for sustainable livelihood and development in Liberia and globally.
