Cynthia Kutir is my name, a Ghanaian by nationality. I possessed a Master of Science Degree in Climate Change and Education, from The University of the Gambia (UTG) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Integrated Development Studies (Environment and Resource Management option), from University for Development Studies (UDS).
I have a strong interest for Climate Change, Disaster Risk Management and Coastal Zone Management /Resilience issues because of the increasing challenge Climate Change related disasters such as droughts, sea-level rise, floods among others pose to livelihoods and sustainable development in my country, Ghana and the world at large.
As such my interest to study at a higher level (PhD) to enable me to acquire sufficient knowledge in the field and use the knowledge, I gain to educate others and help develop/implement programmes/policies to reduce vulnerability to climate-related disasters in coastal areas in Ghana. Am currently pursuing a PhD in Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana through the African Centre of Excellence in Coastal Zone Management (ACECoR). I look forward to gaining expertise in ICZM to enable me to contribute to the expansion of existing knowledge through research, teaching and publications.
