My name is Esther Nyamekye Acheampong. I am a graduate of the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, where I obtained a B.Sc. In Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. I am passionate about coastal management and sustainability as a means of enhancing food security; especially in Africa, and in 2018, I published an article on the profitability of freshwater aquaculture in coastal areas of Ghana in Aquaculture International Journal to that effect.
I am currently pursuing an MPhil in Integrated Coastal Zone Management and I hope that my study and research will provide insight into the plight of dwindling fish stocks and coastal pollution as well as tackle the issues of coastal degradation by introducing tangible, practical solutions and stressing on the need for advancement in the blue economy.
