MPhil Blue Economy, Governance and Social Resilience

2022/2023 Academic Year

Harry Nutifafa Arden comes from Ghana in West Africa. He is a candidate of the pioneering cohort of the M.Phil. Blue Economy, Governance and Social Resilience programme with ACECoR in the University of Cape Coast.
Harry graduated from the same university in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Geography. He has so much passion for environmental sustainability. As a result, he actively contributes to locally designed solutions that are directed at achieving the SDGs in his country.
He believes that the blue economy has a vast potential,  but it is at the same time threatened by unregulated human activities and climate change impacts. These complexities require a better understanding of the coastal and marine ecosystems and the livelihood impacts of any intervention.
Harry’s research direction thus focuses on environmental and natural resource economics, particularly energy transition- community acceptance of coastal and marine renewable energy, energy policy and natural resource governance.
