James Sekyi Annan is a highly motivated and dynamic PhD candidate in Blue Economy, Governance, and Social Resilience at the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience, University of Cape Coast.  Prior to his doctoral studies, he earned Master of Philosophy degree (Economics) and a Bachelor of Science degree (Mathematics with Economics), both from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. With a rigorous academic background in Mathematics and Economics, he brings strong analytical and quantitative skills to his research.

His research interests lie in exploring the intersection between economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social well-being. With his current focus on Blue Economy, he is passionate about exploring new opportunities for sustainable economic growth through the efficient use of marine resources. Through his work, he hopes to contribute to the development of innovative and effective policies that improves the management and governance of ocean and coastal resources and promotes a more resilient and inclusive society.
