MPhil Oceanography and Limnology

2020/2021 Academic Year

I am Janet Frimpomaa, a versatile and creative Ghanaian with a high interest in Coastal Morphological Dynamics. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in B.A Social Sciences (Sociology and Geography) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.

After my undergraduate studies in 2019, I was privileged to be trained under various professionals in the University of Cape Coast including lecturers, research fellows and laboratory technicians. I have also been exposed to field data collection and analyses (e.g. Social research, unmanned aircraft systems data and beach dynamics) under a National Geographic Society supported project, which has given me practical experience in scientific research. These experiences have driven my desire to undertake Coastal Geomorphological studies.

I am currently enrolled as a student of the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) at the University of Cape Coast, pursuing an M.Phil in Oceanography and Limnology. Hence, I have high hopes of graduating successfully as a coastal scientist with great potentials to impact the coastal zones of Ghana and the sub-region.
