Olujumoke Adesola Ogunrayi is a Nigerian. She has Masters of Technology and Bachelor of Technology degrees in Meteorology from the Department of Meteorology & Climate Science, Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria; including a Postgraduate Diploma Certificate in Environmental Management from Technical University Dresden, Germany. Olujumoke is a Meteorologist with a special focus on Climate Change. She is one of the States’ Desk Officers on Climate Change in Nigeria. In her role as Director, Climate Change with Ondo State Ministry of Environment, she initiates and drives climate change activities; while also developing climate change-related policies and action plans. Her years of work experience have equally allowed her the opportunities to make contributions in diverse areas of environmental compliance and sustainability both nationally and internationally. Olujumoke is affiliated with the following professional bodies: Nigerian Meteorological Society (NMS); Nigerian Environmental Society (NES); Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) and DAAD ClimapAfrica Working Group on Climate Change and Land Use.  Currently, she is a PhD student in Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) under a scholarship offered by the World Bank Africa Center of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) at the Centre for Coastal Management, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Her interest lies in the sustainability of the coastal environment from an informed scientific basis. She is always open to learning and accumulating new knowledge and skills. Her efforts are motivated by the overarching goal of reducing unnecessary climate-related hazards through effective adaptation and mitigation. She not only believes that eduction in ocean science is key to secure the oceans as a sustainable resource; but also the fact that climate crisis is a threat multiplier and requires policy changes that drives a just transition to better cope with climate impacts.
