MPhil Oceanography and Limnology

2020/2021 Academic Year

My name is Priscilla Mantey. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana in 2019. I have a keen passion for laboratory research on the physical, chemical and biological functions of the ocean, to provide comprehensive scientific data. I am a co-author of a published article on the Potential Impact of Marine Heatwaves on Selected Phytoplankton Adapted to the Gulf of Guinea during the Stable Hydrographic Period in the African Journal for Marine Science.

Currently, I am pursuing an MPhil in Oceanography and Limnology on the African Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) project, at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.  My goal is to contribute to the understanding of climate change impacts on marine environments and finding solutions to ensure sustainability. I believe that at the end of the program, I will not only have an educational experience but also lifelong skills that will be beneficial for the success of my future endeavour.
