Rael is a holder of a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Management and Conservation from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). For her MSc. Research, she assessed the influence that the invasive guava trees had on carbon storage in tropical forests in Kenya. Currently, she is interested in carrying out her research on blue carbon sequestration in Ghana and Kenya. Until her enrollment at ACECoR, Rael has been working with key ST&I institutions in Kenya. she is currently a staff of the National Commission for Science, Technology, and Innovation (NACOSTI) where she has been serving as a Science Analyst. Previously, she also worked at the Centre of Excellence in Water and Environmental Resources Management (CEWERM) at MMUST as a Research Assistant. As a PhD student in Oceanography and Limnology, Rael hopes to expand her capacities to undertake research in coastal resilience and to contribute to sustainable development particularly through climate change action.
