Stephen Kelly Kissi is an emerging waste management professional from Ghana, West Africa, with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research on waste management within aquatic ecosystems. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Technology from the University of Cape Coast and currently works as a laboratory technologist in the Department of Environmental Science. He has four years of professional experience, including both field and laboratory work with the Ghana Water Company Limited.

He is pursuing a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Environmental Science at the University of Cape Coast as an Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP) Scholar under the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR). His research explores the valorisation of organic waste into compost within selected coastal communities in the KEEA municipality of Ghana’s Central Region.

Driven by the urgent challenge of coastal waste, Stephen is dedicated to advancing practical solutions, informing evidence-based policy, and promoting sustainable waste management practices across Ghana and the wider West African region.
