Announcement of New Partnerships With the African Union- InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR)

 

The Centre for Coastal Management – ACECoR has won two competitive bids with the African Union - InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) within the framework of the FISHGOV2 PROJECT of the African Union which seeks to enhance sustainable fisheries management and aquaculture development in Africa, a program for accelerated reform of the sector. The Centre will be supporting the AU-IBAR:

 

  1. identify specific issues relevant to small island developing states (SIDS) and support the development of draft strategic positions and make specific recommendations for the establishment/strengthening of a platform of SIDS; and
  2. develop mechanisms to encourage and facilitate the domestication of global instruments and initiatives at continental, regional, and national levels in the fisheries and aquaculture sector in Africa

 

These projects position the Center to provide technical and scientific services to assist the African Union organization support the 15 AU Member States involved in this mission.
