Call for Applications: 12 PhD Positions under the MSCA COFUND “EU-DOCS for SmUCS” Programme

The MSCA COFUND (Horizon Europe) project “EU-DOCS for SmUCS”, led by La Rochelle Université and co-financed by the European Commission, is pleased to announce a call for applications for 12 PhD positions starting in the 2026 academic year.
This innovative programme offers interdisciplinary doctoral training in the field of Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability (SmUCS) through thesis cotutelles between La Rochelle Université and partner universities. The goal is to strengthen international collaboration and train a new generation of researchers dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions for urban coastal systems.
The Centre for Coastal Management, Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR) at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, is a proud partner on this project.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) at the time of application.
Candidates must comply with the Marie Skłodowska-Curie mobility rule, meaning they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, study, etc.) in France for more than 12 months in the three years preceding the call deadline.
