As part of the 2022 GIS day celebration, the Geospatial Information Unit of the Centre for Coastal Management - Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR), University of Cape Coast, organised a school talk on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and its prospects.
The Unit engaged with the Geography Department of Edinaman Senior High School at Elmina, Ghana. The students and teachers were introduced to modern geospatial technologies that are used for monitoring and management of the environment for conservation and other purposes. They were also enlightened about the carrier opportunities in GIS that they can pursue in the future.
