At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

• Identify and distinguish the different types of marine litter by size (i.e., macro, meso and micro).
• Sample marine litter of different size fractions from different environmental compartments.
• Perform post-sampling processing and quantification.
• Implement quality control procedures to improve marine litter data integrity.
• Analyse and interpret marine litter data to improve our understanding of source-sink dynamics and risk assessments for policy intervention.
• Design and operationalize a marine litter monitoring programme.
