Towards Elections 2020: Engagement with Political Parties on Fisheries and Coastal Challenges in Ghana

The Centre fro Coastal Management of the University of Cape Coast is organisisng a town hall engagement with political parties in Ghana to present the policy position of the parties towards the 2020 national elections.

About the Fisheries Town Hall Engagement

The upcoming national elections offers an opportunity to highlight the critical challenges the fishery is facing and educate the public more fully about this emerging crisis. In addition, there is a need to advocate for high level political commitments to reform the sector if it is to grow economically, increase production, contribute to national food security and food supply and reduce the need for imports, as well as contribute to reducing poverty in fishing communities. The Centre for Coastal Management of the University of Cape Coast and the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) bring to you a national dialogue on fisheries for representatives of the major political parties, to elicit from the political parties what they will do differently in the light of the current challenges facing the sector.
