About the Project

The COMADRIP is a project funded by the Lighthouse Foundation in Germany aimed at creating a pilot site for the design and development of a Marine Protected Area (MPA) management strategy for the Greater Cape 3 Points area that can feed into the national processes for coastal and marine conservation in Ghana.

Goal: To promote coastal habitats and livelihoods conservation in Ghana through the establishment of Marine Protected Areas.

Objectives:
1. Promote knowledge about ecosystem values and their conservation needs in the Greater Cape Three Points area.
2. Identify potential livelihood sources for development of livelihood diversification in the area.
3. Develop standards for zoning and planning for establishment of Marine Protected Areas in Ghana
4. Facilitate policy development on Marine Protected Areas in Ghana.
5. Enhance community based ecosystem management in the Greater Cape Three Points area.
