COMADRIP Virtual Dissemination Workshop flyer

About the project

The Coastal and Marine Conservation Drive Project (COMADRIP), a science-based pilot initiative to design and develop a marine protected area management strategy in partnership with Government actors, NGOs, and residents along the coastal communities in the Western Region of Ghana, was launched by the Centre for Coastal Management (CCM) - Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) at University of Cape Coast. The Lighthouse Foundation in Germany provided funding for the project. The expected outcomes of the project are to;

  1. Promote knowledge about ecosystem values and their conservation needs in the Greater Cape Three Points Area.
  2. Identify potential livelihoods sources for development of livelihoods diversification in the Greater Cape Three Points Area.
  3. Develop standards for zoning and planning for establishment of marine protected areas in the Greater Cape Three Points Area.
  4. Facilitate policy development on marine protected areas in Ghana.
  5. Enhance community-based ecosystem management in the Greater Cape Three Points Area.
