Professor Denis W. Aheto, Director for the Centre for Coastal Management who is also the senior coastal scientist representing the Future Earth Coasts (FEC) International Project Office (IPO) has been nominated as a member of the FEC Academy 

The Future Earth Coasts co-chairs and Executive Directors have in a letter, welcomed Prof. Aheto to the core body of the FEC project, for a nominal ten-year term [09/2022 to 09/2032]. The Executive Committee and the IPO also expressed their appreciation for his interest to become a FEC Academy member.

As a FEC Academy member, Prof. Aheto would be expected to serve as an ambassador for the project, and provide expertise and advice when needed.

Additionally, as an Academy member, he may be nominated as chair of Future Earth Coasts, become a mentor for future FEC Fellows, and provide expertise for working groups and reports. There will also be a reduced publication fee in the new official affiliate journal of FEC, Anthropocene Coasts. .As a FEC Academy member, he will be listed on the FEC website via this link  https://www.futureearthcoasts.org/fec-academy/
