Daniel is an early career research scientist who has an MPhil in Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) and a degree in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from the University of Cape Coast (UCC). He has certificates in Remote Sensing and Satellite Application to Marine and Coastal Environment, Project Cycle Management, Coastal Adaptation to Climate Change and Forest Landscape Restoration from United State Forest Service and IUCN.

His research interest is in coastal forest (especially mangrove) and wetland ecology, environmental reforestation and conservation. Has in-depth knowledge in the spatial distribution, ecology, status and utilization of mangroves and fisheries resources in Ghana. Has experience in working with local communities in developing coastal ecosystem-based livelihoods and training manuals for schools in wetland communities.

He has 5 peer review papers published to his credit in high impact journals like springer and written several technical reports in his area of research. He is currently a project officer for Hen Mpoano, a local fisheries and coastal governance NGO and a PhD (ICZM) candidate at the World Bank Africa Center of Excellence in Coastal Resilience at the Center for Coastal Management, UCC. He hopes to develop management scenarios for the conservation and management of wetlands in Ghana.
