My name is Martin Opoku. I am a Ghanaian, born on 4th March 1992 and raised in Sefwi Boako, Western North Region. I hold a BSc Degree in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. I am a proactive learner, respectful and ambitious. I have a background in Oceanography and Limnology, Fisheries Science and Management, Marine and Freshwater Ecology, Aquaculture and Integrated Coastal Zone Management. I am also conversant in data collection and analysis with adequate experience in scientific writing.
I am pursuing a Master of Philosophy in Oceanography and Limnology. I am much eager to adopt and know new technologies in Oceanography and Limnology. My interest in Oceanography and Limnology has always been driving in the direction of research into solving current problems confronting marine and inland water systems. My deepest interest lies in problem identification, solving, and also tutoring.
I expect to enhance my capabilities in coastal engineering, climate change adaptation, and mitigation, disaster risk management, ecosystems and biodiversity to be able to contribute to addressing issues of coastal degradation, as well as encouraging the sustainable exploitation of marine and coastal resources in Ghana and the world at large.
